Starting two new hives this Spring!

I am excited to have two new hives started and hopefully they will be as successful as my first. The weather has been ideal here in East Texas and should offer a great start for any hive. Here are some images after installing my two new packages of bees.I would like to mention the actual packaging the bees came in are of a very nice design: made by BEE-BUS. My bee supplier is BeeWeaver- a very good outfit that has great bees.

Hive Relocated!

Originally I had my hive set up in a low lying valley near fenced in garden- to keep the horses away. I have since realized that I needed to move the hive to a higher elevation away from the cold and moist air of the valley. They have had no problems adjusting to the new location...I have read that you should place some brush, slightly covering their entrance when moving your hive so the will reorient themselves when exiting for the first time.

2 Years of Beekeeping!

I cannot believe I have beekeeping for two years now- fighting off inexperience and a horrible East Texas drought, my bees appear to be well off. I have decided to begin documenting my hive's progress and I hope all continues to go well.....So far so good :-)
